Litographs from DAUMIER
From June 13th to November 1st 2020
Till November 1st 2020

In the context of this year’s local elections, La Maison-Atelier DAUBIGNY is pleased to exhibit a series of lithographs by Daumier, a great friend of Charles François DAUBIGNY.

These works, on the theme of the elections, illustrate through the attentive and critical gaze of Daumier, the typical mood were politics are frigthen by the idea of not beeing reelected, and where people are, for some of them, not sure to understand everything.

They also highlight the dissolution, the universal suffrage, and Napoleon III putting in place referendums to get the approval from the people.
This exhibition is made possible thanks to Francis Van Overbecque.

Over: Daubigny exhibitions in Japan in 2018-2019 !
November 2Oth 2018 to November 4th 2019
In 2918 and 2019 five Japanese Museum will show an exhibition fully dedicated to Charles François DAUBIGNY. About 100 works from him will be exhibited.

This moving exhibition could come to life thanks to several contributors, among the Daubigny's familly who lended the family owned set of 15 etchings featuring the "Journey on the Botin", as well as the Botin small model made in 2007 by Daniel Raskin, descendant of Daubigny.

=> As a result, you'll have to be patient before you can admire these great pieces again, at the Maison-Atelier de Daubigny.

As a replacement, we are showing other works, and we have an exhibition dedicated to Daumier, close friend of Daubigny, where 32 lithographs about the Europe construction are shown.

Several other people or entities have also contributed to the Japanse exhibition. Among them, the Daubigny Museum in Auvers-sur-Oise, which owns a collectrion of objects from the artist, coming from a donation made by Daniel Raskin's family, direct descendants of Daubigny. This donation has been the main source of the Museum creation, slightly more than 30 years ago. Since then, the Museum has acquired many other pieces.

Last bu not least, the Beaux-arts Museum in Reims, also owning many works from Daubigny, has been a key actor in the setting  of these Japanese exhibitions. Its Chief Director, Ms. Delot, is also directing this moving exhibiton put in place thanks to the Brain trust Inc. company specialized in exhibitions coordination.
